Long nites and short days

Well I finally broke down and did it.  Yesterday after work I went to the Jacksonville dog track to play poker.  All and all it was a fun time.  I have not taken a break in quite sometime and it was good therapy.  It allowed me to immerse my mind in something that was totally unrelated to work or online marketing, plus it was a good break from the wife and kids.

The bad thing it was almost 3 am before I got in!  So I slept to 1 pm!  Oh well long nites make for short days.

I am currently teaming up with another internet marketer to build a member blogging site.  It is going to be labor intensive and rewarding.  It is going to be geared to helping others to market products and get the word out about things that matter to them.  A blogging platform on crack.

This coupled with several other online projects is going to keep my plate full.  Let’s face it a full plate is better than an empty plate or no plate at all.  I do have trouble explaining concepts to people who do not “get it” so I have teamed up with someone who has the patience required of a teacher.  So with our new project I will working on the back end and promotion and he will work on the instructional aspects of our new program.

Getting Refocused on Personal Online Properties

September 14, 2007 · Filed Under Daily Updates · Comment

Well since starting my new job my personal online properties have dropped in value.  Not in terms of the value of content I have on the world wide web but in the fact updates have not been as ofter as they should be.  This in turn has cause some decline in traffic and online income.   The value of my time has been diminished due to my new job.

I am refocusing my efforts to my personal online properties that I own instead of building online domination for others benefit.  I am not quitting my job but am redirecting my efforts on the new blog network to for my personal gain rather than someone else’s.

Ok now that I have that rant out of the way I will update you on the rest of the family.  The kids are doing great.  Preston does not even realize that he had surgery and I am still very much in Love with My wife.

Other than my personal dissatisfaction with my online properties life is good and all is well!

Surgery and “Tater Logs”

September 8, 2007 · Filed Under Kids · Comment

Well today Preston had another surgery on his ears. This one was a fairly minor surgery in the big scheme of things. They had to replace ear tubes and do some ear canal reconstruction. Total time from the time we got to the hospital until we were headed home was only 3 and a half hours.

Befor Surgery

What is rough on a two year old when he has a routine of eating when he wakes is not feeding him before we went to the hospital. He was not allowed to eat after 11 pm the night before. Needless to say he was somewhat cranky prior to the surgery.

After it was all said and done on our ride everybody was starving. Mom and Dad did not dare eat when he was not allowed to. I stopped at a local deli to get food to carry home with us and Preston was not gonna wait. He loves “Tater logs” so he was snacking before we made it home.

All in all other than his reaction coming out from the anesthesia, confused and cranky, it was not a bad day for Preston or Mom and Dad. After he had his “Tater Logs” and a sandwich he was off to the races like nothing happened. What is amazing is he only weighs 30 lbs and he ate four of them and a sandwich. I don’t think I could eat that many plus a sandwich.

I just hope as he gets older and has more intense surgeries that his resilience remains the same.  The big ones he has had so far really did not even seem to bother him much.  He is a trooper with all of the energy that a two year old is expected to have.

Personal Online Properties Starting to Suffer

September 2, 2007 · Filed Under Sunday Update, Uneventful Ramblings, Work · Comment

Some of my personal affiliate sites are starting to suffer because of my new job.  It is ok for now.  The decrease in online income is offset by my employment income by 10 fold.  So for now I am not complaining.  It still does not offset my resolve to get online income to over 100K per year.  I do feel I can accomplish that in 2008.

The kids seem to being doing good.  I have spent a lot of time away from them with my new position.  The hours are tremendous.  I do still get the morning drive to school with them so we do get those few minutes of quality time in the morning, but for the last week they have been in bed when I got home.  Tomorrow I am making up for that.  We have a guys day out planned.

Preston’s surgery is coming up on Friday and that will probably be my next post here, I have many projects that I am working on online that generate income so I have to really concentrate my time there.

Cheers…
